David and Clare Hieatt, founders of Howies, are embarking on a new adventure, the HIUT Denim Company. Their sleepy town of Cardigan is going to make jeans again.

Myself and Joe Spiteri were asked to help tell the story. We spent last week at the first annual yearbook shoot getting to know an inspiring group of people including foragers, builders, growers, musicians, tree-fellers, carpenters, architects, designers, photographers - and a dog.

Look out for the video on the HIUT site in the coming months.

The National Trust are currently in the midst of raising £1,000,000 in order to purchase the historic Llyndy Isaf farm in the Nant Gwynant Valley, the heart of Snowdonia. If all goes well, the appeal should successfully conclude in October and save the area, and it’s lake, from commercial development it would face on the open market.

To aid this cause, we were recently commissioned by the National Trust to shoot a documentary film of the area, to showcase why it should be saved to the public. Last weekend was spent on location and the film should be launched in mid-August.

During my time in Switzerland, I have taken more time to get behind the camera and managed to gain access to various locations in Zurich, from football matches to cog-wheel railways.

Friday night saw me dip my toes into the world of concert photography and shooting from ‘the pit’. Not a bad way to start, as it was for the Nas & Damian Marley (!) show at Komplex 457.

Threw in a bit of Bob for the encore too.

This week an exciting new project began involving the local football team, FC Zurich (and to a lesser extent, Grasshoppers FCZ). We have been fortunate enough to be given press access to the Letzigrund stadium for the rest of the season, and today marked my first outing as an official FCZ photographer. Weekends just got a whole lot better.

A project I’ve been working on for a while is the branding of horse racing syndicate Racing Green. Production has been pushed back until later in the season due to the length of time it takes to train a racehorse, so the finished products will be around later in the year.

Here is a little preview of the racing silks, to be produced in July.

I have just finished a fantastic 6 weeks interning with Established and Sons.

It’s an exciting time for the company, with Alasdhair Willis leaving his role as Chief Executive during my time in the studio. My internship also coincided with London Design Festival, which involved us taking over the historic Wenlock Arms for the week!
